Throne and Liberty Environmental Changes: Day, Night and Weather

The day/night cycles and weather changes are not just visual effects in Throne and Liberty. While the visual effect is important for immersion, the game will also be affected by Environment changes in different ways. In the upper right corner of your screen you will see the current environmental conditions.

The environment is a key factor in Throne and Liberty, and those who know how to adapt to it, or even control it, will have a great advantage. Cyclical day/night changes are predictable, they happen after a certain time. But rain and wind are unpredictable, although they will occur consistently, you will not know for sure when to expect them. So be prepared to make the most of the environment changes when they happen and strengthen yourself to master them.

Day and Night | Throne and Liberty

The day and night cycle lasts 5 hours in total, with 4 hours of day and 1 hour of night. Some monsters will change their patterns during the day or night, some NPCs will only appear while it is day or night and dungeons will open according to the time. Different skills will be affected according to the time of day you are in, for example a dagger will be able to move faster during the night with the Ghost Step skill.

But be aware, some players will be able to turn day into night, at least for a few minutes.

Weather | Throne and Liberty

The weather changes with the time, the day can be sunny and the night clear, but it can also rain, the wind can blow in different directions and with greater or lesser intensity.

Rain

Once the rain starts, it will hold for 30 minutes; if it starts to rain, the rain will last for 30 minutes. The probability of rain is 4 in 1, so during the day, if it rains (30 minutes) there will be at least 2 hours of sunshine.

One of the best examples is the access to the castle through the sewers. If it rains, this access is flooded and disabled. This can happen naturally during the usual weather changes, or it can be caused by a player able to invoke rain.

The effect of rain on the environment will not only limit access to certain areas, it will also affect skills. If, for example, you use an electric element skill in an area with a high water level due to rain, the skill’s area of effect will expand, dealing damage to more enemies.

Wind

The effect of wind is more subtle, it will not be as easy to notice as rain, but its influence will be felt in several ways. In combat, wind will affect the range of projectiles, such as arrows. With tailwind, your arrows will reach farther, with a headwind, your range will be diminished. Imagine the importance during a massive combat, the direction of the wind can change the outcome of the battle.

Movement will also be affected by the wind, particularly flight. With the wind in your favor you will be able to reach places that are unreachable without wind, and with the wind against you will not be able to reach areas that are usually accessible.

Like the rain, some players will be able to control the direction of the wind, gaining important advantages for themselves and their allies.

Master the Weather | Throne and Liberty

But passively waiting for climate change to happen is not your only option. When you reach the top of the different ranks, you will be able to gain abilities that allow you to alter the weather yourself. Maybe you can summon a storm, change the wind direction, or even produce an eclipse.

To access these special abilities, you must be the highest ranked player in one of the different daily categories available. Whoever obtains these abilities will be able to use them only twice a day with a considerably high cooldown, and the effect will last for 10 minutes.

If you reach the top of the Growth Ranking, Activity Ranking or Kill Ranking you will be able to use one of the Transcending Skills: Eclipse, Gale or Heavy Rain. Learn more in the Master Skills Guide.
