The idea of releasing Throne and Liberty for mobiles seems to be making a comeback. According to the Korean portal MTN, NCSOFT has plans to revive the initial idea of releasing the mmorpg for mobiles. The plan would be to update the game and release a mobile version after TL’s global launch.
But what we are all wondering is, will it be a full port of the game to mobile platforms, or a new version exclusively for cell phones? For the moment there is no answer to this question. The porting of the game to mobile would imply a turn back, since it was initially planned to be launched on mobile as well. This idea was later discarded by the developers of Throne and Liberty, and the game was developed for PC and consoles.
If Throne and Liberty’s mobile project continues, it would make sense for it to be developed separately, as happened with Black Desert, where the mobile version of the game is completely separate from the PC and console versions.
In other news, representatives of Amazon Games discussed details of the global release of the game with NCSOFT, but there is no news on possible dates. Throne and Liberty is currently expected to be released sometime in 2024.
