NCSoft has confirmed the global expansion of its MMORPG Throne and Liberty (TL) along with one of the most important updates to date.
Global server expansion on Steam
Starting on September 18, 2025, NCSoft and Amazon Games will expand TL’s global service regions on Steam. Players in Asia (including South Korea and Taiwan) will be able to access the global version of the game operated by Amazon Games. This version will include Korean text and voice support as well as Traditional Chinese translation.
The regional service in Asia (Region 1), originally launched in December 2023 via NCSoft’s PURPLE platform, will continue to operate independently.
The global version of TL was launched in October 2024 across North, Central, and South America, Europe, Oceania, and Japan through the partnership with Amazon Games.
A massive update arrives in September
Alongside the expansion, NCSoft announced a major update that will begin rolling out on September 16, 2025. More details will be presented in a new episode of TL PD Talks by FirstSpark Games on September 10 at 10 a.m. KST.
Main update content:
- New weapon: Magic Orb.
- 24 vs 24 PvP battlefield: City of Giants.
- Open-field PvP: Abyss Stone Conquest.
- Redesigned Siege Battles for greater immersion.
- New ranking and weekly challenge system: Challenge Dimension.
- Two new PvE dungeons.
- Hero 3-tier equipment system.
- Housing system for home customization and social interaction.
- World Tree Guidance, offering growth guides and rewards.
Looking ahead at the future of Throne and Liberty
The update will also provide a preview of the TL roadmap for the second half of 2025, highlighting how NCSoft and Amazon Games plan to keep this MMORPG active and competitive worldwide.
