Rune System Guide – Throne and Liberty

What is the Rune System? There is not much mystery really, you can add runes to your equipment to improve it with different stats. The rune system in Throne and Liberty is pretty standard, if you played a similar game you won’t find it too strange, but it has its peculiarities, and we will talk about them in this short guide.

Rune Slots and Rune Synergy

There are 3 types of runes: Attack, Defense and Support. In your Weapons and Accessories you will find the slots where you can add each type of rune, but these slots are initially locked. Opening the slots will cost you Sollant, but be careful! If you unlock them in the right order, you will be able to get Rune Synergy.

What is Rune Synergy you may ask, well, they are extra stats that you can achieve unlocking the rune slots in a certain order. Find the synergy you want in the list, and unlock the slots in that order by clicking on each hammer and selecting the correct rune types.

The Synergy bonus depends on the color of the runes, each grade offers a different bonuses. To obtain it, all three runes equipped must be of the same color.

How to get and Level up Runes

You will get runes as loot in Bosses, Dynamic Events and Challenge Dungeons.

Runes level up as you acquire them. What does this mean? If you have a level 3 attack rune, the next time that same rune drops, there is a certain probability that it will be level 4. You can see the probabilities in this link.

The most effective way to level up runes is with Challenge Dungeons. Level up your white runes to level 20 in Tier 1, move to Tier 3 until your green runes reach level 40, and finally move to Tier 5 until all your blue runes reach level 60.

The runes that you do not use can be dissolved to buy Rune Chance Chests with the Rune Fragments obtained. You can also use the Runes to try to obtain a better rune with Material Transmutation.
