Table of Contents

  • Required Level: 50
  • Min. Combat Power: 1600
  • Dungeon Type: 1-Star Dimensional Circle
  • Description: According to Sylavean legend, the temple houses the monstrous Rex Chimaerus, which evolved after consuming greater mana. Defeat him to prevent further chaos.

Rex Chimaerus Overview

  • Type: Demon
  • Passive: Dusk Madness (Night: Increases both Damage Dealt and Damage Taken)

Rex Chimaerus is a powerful boss with several deadly mechanics. To successfully defeat him, your team must understand his special abilities and patterns.

The arena is surrounded by four (4) pillars chained to a platform in the middle. During the fight, Rex Chimaerus will charge a massive fire attack, triggering the appearance of Air Pitons around the arena. One or more party members must use the Air Pitons to grapple to the center platform and pull a lever to activate the pillars. Once activated, the chains connected to the pillars become interactable. Each party member stationed near a pillar must interact with the chains to prevent Rex Chimaerus from unleashing a devastating AoE attack.

  • Pre-positioning: Before the fight begins, assign one party member (preferably ranged DPS) to each of the four pillars to ensure a quick reaction once the mechanic starts.
  • Lever Activation: When the boss begins to charge his attack, one or two party members should use the Air Pitons to reach the platform and activate the lever.
  • Chain Interaction: Once the chains become interactable, each designated party member should quickly interact with their assigned chain to avoid the massive AoE damage.

Basic claw swipes. These are not very damaging and can be tanked easily.

Rex fires acid projectiles from its tail, targeting three of the farthest players and leaving acid puddles. Simply avoid standing in these areas.

Rex spits venom at a target, paralyzing them after a short delay. The affected player should move away from the group.

After the Paralyzing Venom attack, Rex will shoot three fireballs at the paralyzed player, causing massive damage. Tanks should intercept these fireballs with the support of healers.

This devastating attack can only be avoided by successfully completing the pillar chain mechanic.

Weapon ComboRecommended RoleExplanation
Greatsword / Sword and ShieldTankProvides strong defense and is vital for soaking damage, especially during Rex Chimaerus’ fireball attack.
Longbow / CrossbowDPSIdeal for ranged damage, and for players stationed at the pillars for the special mechanic.
Staff / CrossbowDPSOffers magical ranged damage and allows players to remain positioned at pillars while attacking.
Wand / StaffSupportExcellent for healing the tank and providing consistent support to the group, with some offensive capabilities.

After defeating the Ancient Shade Wizard, interact with the first valve to fill the area with water and access the next section.

Repeat the same process on the other side, activating the second valve after clearing enemies.

After both valves are activated, head to the middle path and defeat the Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer. This mini-boss is straightforward with no special mechanics.

After the mini-boss, glide through the flaming room to reach the next area.

After landing, continue deeper into the dungeon until you reach the final barrier. Defeat the Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard to break through the barrier and advance to the final boss arena

Clear the final room by defeating the Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard. Though the wizard lacks unique mechanics, it summons hounds, making the fight more challenging. Tanks should gather the hounds’ aggro while DPS focuses on the wizard.
