Throne and Liberty developers published a new video guide about the Skill and Weapon upgrades, the Upgrade Transfer system and Craft. You can watch here the full video, and below the video you will find the translated summary of the most important points.
In the previous guide we talked about the weapon combination, now let’s see how you can make your character grow by upgrading your skills and equipment. Every time you try an upgrade, you will get it, upgrades don’t fail in Throne and Liberty; your item won’t be destroyed or lower the level of upgrade reached.
Skills Enhancement
All skills have a starting grade that can be upgraded, you will see it in the exagon at the bottom right corner of each skill. Upgrading your skills will give them additional special effects, you can see what they will be and the items you need to level them up in the skill upgrade window.
For skill upgrades you will need to use Enhancement Books of the same grade and weapon type, but be careful, active and passive skills require different types of books. When selecting rewards keep in mind which skill you want to upgrade to get the right material.
While the enhancement never fails, the amount of enhancement value achieved per attempt is determined with a certain probability, you can see it by clicking on the question mark. Each skill grade has 5 levels of upgrade, when you make upgrade n°6 the skill will change to the higher grade at level 1.
Equipment Enhancement
As with skills, each item has its own grade. Each equipment grade has a maximum level of improvement:
- Common: 3
- Uncommon: 6
- Rare: 9
- Epic: 12
To upgrade your equipment open the Equipment Upgrade window from the menu or click on the item and then click on the upgrade button on the right.
The process of upgrading equipment is the same as for skills but the materials you will need for upgrading change. To upgrade equipment you need Growth Stones with the right grade. You can use Growth Stones of a lower grade to create Growth Stones of a higher grade, and conversely you can disassemble Growth Stones to obtain a lower grade one.
Enhancement Transfer
One of the most interesting features of Throne and Liberty’s upgrade system is that you can transfer the upgrade level from one piece of equipment to another. From the Upgrade Transfer window select the item that will receive the upgrades and the item from which it will receive them.
Note that the percentage of improvement received in this transfer will depend not only on the level of improvement, but also on the grade. If both pieces are of the same grade, the level of improvement obtained with the transfer will be the same, but if they are of different grades the improvement value is converted and applied according to the grade of the items.
Craft
If you want to create your own equipment you can do so by getting the materials indicated in the recipe and finding the right NPC. Find the NPC by clicking the map icon in the recipe.
If you have doubts about where to get some of the materials you can also find out from the recipe itself, select the material and click on the information icon.
If you have duplicate equipment or you simply don’t use it, don’t throw it away, register it in the Equipment Collection Book. With the Equipment Collection Book you can complete different sets of items and receive equipment improvement materials as a reward.
