NCSOFT finally presented at G-STAR 2023 a few of the changes made and showed the gameplay of some features of the updated version of Throne and Liberty, such as dungeons and boss fights.
Taedal’s Tower
The presentation started with the individual dungeon Taedal’s Tower. In this dungeon you must progress through the different floors of the tower and defeat the bosses in each section. NCSOFT gave details of the 11th and 18th floor bosses and their mechanics.
UI
You can also see an interface with some differences. With the new changes, in addition to the numbers from 1 to 9 we will also be able to use Q, E, R keys.
Skills Menu
The character’s skill menu was also modified. The skills were divided between passive and active as you can see in the images below: on the left the passive ones and on the right of the weapon the active skills. In total you can choose only 12 active and 8 passive skills of your weapon to customize your character.
Group Dungeons
One of the most repeated requests in the players’ feedback was the group dungeons. Although they had already anticipated the creation of this content, during the presentation we were able to see some more details about it. NCSoft presented the first example of the 6-player group dungeons, including the design of a tree-like boss and its different attacks.
In group dungeons it will be necessary to correctly combine the classes of the participants (tank, healer, dps…) and know the combat style of the bosses, their attacks, and create strategies to defeat them. The general strategy is to avoid massive attacks and block strong attacks using the defensive skills in time.
Guild Boss: Tevent
To end the presentation, the developers showed the combat against the Tevent guild boss. Guild bosses were added as an alternative form of team play for players who are unable to participate in World Bosses because of the schedule or PVP combat.
Some of the attacks of Tevent are the rush that hits everyone in its path causing considerable damage, and above all the Curse, which must be eliminated within a certain time or it will kill you.
To remove the curse you must use the water in the moat surrounding the boss arena. If it rains, the moat fills up completely and it is easier to remove the curse.
